More Than a Book: It’s a Bridge
It's not just a children’s book—it’s a bridge to conversations, a spark for connection, and a reminder of Christ’s unwavering love and power.
On Valentine’s Day, I ran into a grandmother I had met at a recent book event. She had brought her grandkids that day, and it was clear she had been planting seeds of faith in their lives. One of them even recalled the biblical account of Jesus calming the storm—the very one I share in Olivia Braves Attacking Waves.
But this time, as we talked, she opened up.
Her family is in a spiritual battle. Their mother has embraced new age and occult practices, and her grandchildren are caught in the crossfire. She only sees them once a week and feels overwhelmed by the negativity that surrounds them.
Still, she is determined to brave what feels like an attacking wave of a different caliber than what my book relates, but with the same faith.
Faith in the One who makes her brave.
She does what she can—speaking truth, declaring identity, and praying over their destiny.
I reminded her:
Her prayers matter.
Her worship matters.
Even in the smallest moments, speaking truth can pierce the darkness. She is standing in the gap as God’s ambassador—just as my own grandmother once did for me.
The enemy’s deception is costly, and future generations often bear the weight of it. But this grandmother, like so many faithful ones before her, is choosing to stand firm on the Rock of salvation—not the shifting sands of a world that distorts truth by mixing Christ with the occult.
She asked what church I attend, and I pray that one day, we’ll have the opportunity to pour into her grandkids at children’s church. Until then, she will keep investing in them in the ways she can.
Last night, I woke up praying for this family. I am grateful to witness a grandmother rising up in faith—so that her grandchildren can rise too. And I will stand with her in prayer, believing for their breakthrough, believing that they will come to know Jesus as their only Way, Life, and Truth.
Because this is more than a children’s book.
It’s a bridge to deeper conversations.
A tool to equip parents and mentors, alike.
A small but powerful part of God’s plan to inspire is to raise the next generations to rise…
